"Kickin' It Up A Notch"

"Kickin' It Up A Notch"

Date: 04/03/2006 Views: 50

Very early on in life I acquired a love for creative pursuits, even at a young age my artistic talent was evident. This interest has continued to walk side by side with me into the realm of professional affairs. I was 6 years of age when I began painting - unfortunately I was never able to dedicate too much time to it. But I never forgot how the paint could transform a canvas from a two dimensional, blank shape into a stunning, colorful and lifelike work of art filled with energy.

Around that same time, I found in my older sister's possesion a book entitled "The Beauty Principal" by Victoria Principal. In The Beauty Principal, Victoria shares all she has learned in her professional and personal life about achieving and maintaining healthy good looks. Victoria's message to women everywhere is: "Be yourself - but be your best self." For, as Victoria says, the totally beautiful woman makes a commitment to taking care of herself inside and out.

I was entranced by this philosophy and was impressed by this woman with whom I share my namesake. I would try to sneak some time in with this book whenever I possibly could...and my sister probably doesn't know that I eventually 'borrowed' the book from her and still have it to this day.

It was much easier to reconcile a personal hobby and a professional career through makeup artistry, an activity which I have found is the perfect productive match for my artistic talents. I have worked on numerous well-known talents throughout the industry, and have provided my MUA services on a sole basis to several well-known and respected photographers throughout the globe. With my trusty set of supplies and brushes, I still unleash my creativity though 'painting,' only now my canvas is the human face - and what more deserving canvas than art's very own inspiration?

Sincerely, Victoria
